Neal Brown Provides Update on Devin Carter's Injury

Carter Practicing This Week, Availability Uncertain

WIDEOUT MISSING PRACTICE LAST WEEK

West Virginia wide receiver Devin Carter did not play in the Week 2 blowout win over Long Island University. Head coach Neal Brown said on his weekly radio show that Carter has practiced all week, but his availability for the team's next game is uncertain. Carter's absence was a blow to the Mountaineers' offense, as he is one of their most experienced and talented receivers. He had 33 catches for 483 yards and three touchdowns last season. With Carter out, Bryce Ford-Wheaton stepped up and had a big game against LIU, catching five passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Sam James also had a solid game, with three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. If Carter is unable to play this week, Ford-Wheaton and James will likely be the Mountaineers' top receivers. They will be facing a tough test against BYU, who has one of the best defenses in the country. *
